KonaRed “Wellness You Can Feel!” Sweepstakes at Don Quijote in Honolulu!

KonaRed was honored to be a part of the 3rd Annual West Hawaii Beach Clean-Up this past Saturday in March. The clean-up covered over 20 miles of coastline along the Kona coast of the Big Island, making it the biggest beach clean up in the state!! Volunteers showed up at old A’s Beach Park early morning to sign up for their beach of choice, ranging from Pinetrees all the way to Ke’ei.

Each volunteer was greeted with an ice-cold KonaRed, t-shirts, reusable tote bags, and trash bags, then proceeded to their chosen clean-up site. At noon after a morning of successful and meaningful work, all volunteers met back at Old A’s Beach park to refuel with some more KonaRed on ice and enjoy live music, games, raffle prizes, and grind on some sushi served up by the legendary Mr. Hayashi!

The event was organized by B.I.W.R.A.D. (Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs), who did an amazing job bringing the kama’aina together to help keep our Kona beaches pristine! Always remember to pick up your trash and recycle your KonaRed Bottles! Leave only footprints! Till next year, Aloha!

Landlocked has thrived by creating unique, soulful music that reminds the listener more of surfing and beach parties than ski huts and barn dances. Landlocked’s sound starts with reggae and then takes a left turn into funk and hip-hop, with a live show that sometimes rises to the manic energy of punk rock.

The band’s recent EP album debuted on the iTunes Top 25 Reggae Albums chart and they’ve shared the stage with the likes of Iration, State Radio and Rebelution. 

After a short hiatus, Landlocked’s members joined up to take a quick tour in their mountain backyard with sold out shows. Plans are in the works to make another trip to tour Hawaii soon where several members are originally from.

KonaRed had the honor this winter to be a part of The Cold Smoke Awards: a live show with music, film, MC’s, hosts, filmmakers, athletes, presenters, and proper attire. Similar to major award-show format, this exciting, eclectic, and zany awards ceremony celebrates independent talent with a vibe only the winter mountain culture can create. This grassroots ceremony encourages all levels of filmmakers and all walks of mountain community to coalesce in this winter celebration. 

The kick off event for The Cold Smoke Awards is The People’s Choice Tour, which gives the audience an opportunity to view films in their entirety and cast a personal vote on their favorite film. The Tour took over 3 weeks, 10 stops, countless ski hills, & 5,000 miles but they made the trip & enjoyed their KonaRed!
